Julia Ott (she/her) is a New York City based actor, writer, director, and deviser. She received her BFA in Drama from The University of North Carolina School of the Arts in the spring of 2025.
Raised in the mountains of Idaho, Julia’s upbringing was filled with days of exploring her backyard and questioning the natural world around her. Her curiosity for nature grew into a desire to understand human nature and behavioral patterns. Her artistry has always revolved around asking questions and getting to know people more deeply. Julia will always be the first to ask a question and the last to answer; she believes that space in between is where the best work is created.
Now, Julia is drawn towards creating her own work that centers around women’s stories, the natural world, and unheard voices. Her play, “The Sound of Water”, premiered at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival this past summer and received great reviews. In any room she’s in she strives to be a hardworking and fun loving collaborator.
In her downtime, Julia loves being outside and swimming in rivers, reading any fantasy book she can get her hands on, baking sweet treats for friends, and watching women’s soccer.
Thank you for being here! Let’s create together!
